Our speaker at church this morning was Bro. Jo Balais. If you don't know him, his life story was featured on TV many years back for a lenten presentation of the 700 Club Asia. I remembered at a young age being inspired while watching it. He was once a hoodlum, a public enemy no.1. He has killed a number of people and once the leader of the notorious "Bahala Na Gang", until he met God. His story is a picture of God's grace and forgiveness...that anyone at any condition can be transformed and have a renewed life if he will just allow God to enter in. God is the one changing the character of a person.

Who would have thought that the once known criminal was now a Pastor? Yes...God can really do miracles in a person's life.

Speaking of changes, I too pledge for a character change. I know I need to change some crooked ways. I need to pattern this for my new found significance. Yes, you read it right. I now felt significant in my work after all.

I just realized everything after I attended a workshop/training about being INDISPENSABLE. Prior to this, I was feeling insignificant and ordinary. Unimportant. I don't feel the prestige unlike others who had the same title/position as mine. Actually, I had a personal dilemma...for months now. Just then this training came. It somehow, awakened me... and made me realized my importance. I was literally awakened at 2 am today thinking of all these things and all the things I should start doing. I just realized, I don't have an Individual Development plan so I better start doing the things I should do...the soonest time possible.

I'm 31% Vain

In response to Mai's tag... here's the result of the Vanity quiz I took.

You Are 31% Vain

Okay, so you're slightly vain from time to time, but you're not superficial at all.
You are realistic. You know that looks matter. You just try to make them matter less.

Well, I may say that the result is true :D.

Random Beauty/Vanity/Fashion facts about me:
1. I wear makeup when I work but I make sure it's not loud. Same with Mai, my makeup kit consists of unbranded cosmetics. I can't leave the house whitout using a curler and a maskara. Even if I don't wear eyeshadows as long as I have these 2 ok na ang eyes ko. I have chinita eyes kasi so I use them to make my eyes look bigger. I love earth colored make ups and lipsticks.
2. I occasionally shop for clothes even if it's on sale. Basta I know hindi ko kailangan. I don't always follow trends. I'm comfortable wearing a pair of jeans and a comfy top (shirt/blouse) when I go out. I don't wear ravealing tops or strappy blouses, tubes etc. U I don't wear skirts outside the house.
3. After work, I just use make up removers and wash my face with Eskinol Papaya Facial Wash :D.
4. I make sure my hair's rebonded once a year. It started in 2005. This month I had my third. I just maintain it with shampoo and conditioner. If there's extra money and time, I had it treated.
5. Of course I do wear perfume and a cologne. Cologne for casual occasions.
6. I don’t grow my nails long, I want it clean. But I do put nailpolish, occasionally (French tips mostly).
7. I buy shoes when needed. But I do have a collection of shoes at home. But I don't usually buy expensive ones.
8. I have a hand lotion in the office and a sanitizer on my purse. always.

That's it! For me the beauty of our crowning glory matters a lot so that's where I spend the most :D. I'm tagging Toni, Nice, Faye, Nette, Kitts.. and those who want to try this quiz :D

Got it, Blew it..

Read this post? Well, I somehow got the job. I attended the initial meeting / interview in Tomas Morato with the head last Friday. The job, by the way, is a part-time wedding coordinator. I really love weddings so I believe I can be a good one. But I somewhat blew it! My first event supposedly is on the following day, Saturday. But alas, when I arrived home after our meeting, my mom told me that my baby is sick. Since I don't have a yaya yet, I don't have any choice but stay with my baby and monitor her condition.

Saturday at 1am, her temperature rised to 40 degrees. I was so worried so I sent the head a text message telling her that I might not be able to go. I just don't know if she recieved the message, but I really hope she understood my situation that time. *Sigh*

Anyways, I am not just so sure if I totally blew it. Just praying that she'd reconsider me for the job. :D

And with regards to my baby, I brought her to her pedia yesterday. The doctor told me that its just some kind of a flu or Raciolla, in tagalog she called it "Tigdas Hangin" and one aspect can also be caused by the erruption of her teeth. She's quite well na when I left her this morning. Her temp was stable at 37 degrees. Thank God.

This is quite a late post…I just want to blog about it. I was invited to a cocktails held at Holiday Inn Galeria for the Twin Summit Club. I was first hesitant to go since I’m not really a partygoer and quite dislike sosyalan. But since I don’t have anything to do after office, I just go and brought with me my colleague. It was held at Holiday Inn’s Bed Bar @ Bar One. It was a nice place. I enjoyed the food…(who won’t?...it’s free!..lolz!). But the highlight of the night is Christian Bautista, the guest entertainer! He is really one of my favorite singers kaya we stayed and finished his performance. Sayang lang kasi we forgot to bring a camera with us! Of all the days that night pa. So we just pleased and filled our eyes with views of him..tsk tsk!

I just tucked Jaden to bed. That little girl...she was still up and alert so I had to force her to sleep. A while ago, she was so daldal while singing... (that really means babbling :D) and dancing with the kids on the TV commercial. She even flutters her eyelashes as she show me her version of "beautiful eyes"....and yes, I love her famous "nguso"..how funny her face looks! How I wish, my husband's here to witness his daughter's kakulitan...haha! Nakakaaliw na talaga sobra. So even if kami lang dalawa dito sa house, I'm really enjoying it. Now, she's sound asleep. Which is good because I can now have my time to check on my emails and of course, blog :D.

Okay, so what's new? My BIL got our car last Sunday. He moved it to their house in Mandaluyong. My husband told him to use it as long as I'm not yet ready to drive. Though, I'm not okay with the decision, he was able to compelled me since I know it's right. So,what I need to do now is start enrolling in a driving institution and learn fast. And speaking of, I already inquired with several driving school near our house. I just hope that the instructors will have enough patience for me...lol!

Well, I stopped counting the days...I'll just get frustrated. I'm beginning to adjust and lived with the situation. I know I'll get the hang of it..being alone for the meantime :).

Hire Me!

Since I started posting for PPP, it made me realized even more that earning by blogging is really simple and easy. Though this is not really my bread and butter, writing posts for PPP and getting paid is really fun and fulfilling. And now, here’s one good news…PPP introduces the launch of PPP Direct.

With PPP Direct, bloggers may opt not to choose from a variety of post where earning is limited to what the advertisers offer. Here, posties are the real boss. Meaning, we can set our price from $10, $15, $20, $25, and so on. Just name your price if you think you deserve to be paid higher. Say, if you got more traffic, and you think advertiser can really take advantage from your blog, you can set your post to the price your blog deserves.

Unlike other competitors, ReviewMe for example, which charge 50-100% markup and keep up to half your money, PPP Direct only charges a 10% fee, 5% of which goes to transaction fees for PayPal and credit card processing. This is a great new way for bloggers to keep the most amount of money possible while having the safety and security of a service that will assure you get paid for your hard work. Truly brilliant!

Wake up call

I've got a firm tap. Maybe it's God's wake up call.... for me to appreciate all the things that He had given me, the things that I possesed, prayed for and those that were freely given to me. For me to realize that life can be taken away from us even on a fleeting moment, for me to value living...to realize that in life nothing is permanent, to realize the value of time, friendship, connections. To realize how God earnestly wants us to let Him be involved in our lives...every areas of it. And not just become a part of it.. a saling-pusa. A singit to our busy schedules.

I know... Lately I make a lot of plans in this life, a lot of moves I think best for me, and so often without consulting God. And I know that's not right. But thank God for the tap. May God help me to follow Him in all my ways, and not just a selected few.
“in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight”
(Proverbs 3:6).

First Birthday

Well, life must go on. And some things are still worth celebrating!

We celebrate Jaden’s first birthday last Saturday. It was just a simple event but it was fun. I wasn’t able to give her a huge party since we don't have a lot to spend and also, we only have few visitors from close friends and relatives. And since Jerry’s leaving my mind was preoccupied with his departure...so no creative ideas came out. You won't even believe that the give-aways was ordered just the night before the event. 11:30 pm to be exact, when I was exchanging text messages to the supplier. That was really rushed and a blessing indeed!

We held her party at McDonald’s Party House in Marikina. The party time was really short that's why some of the guests who arrived late have to take out their food.It was a bit embarrasing but all in all, the party was enjoying and really memorable. The hosts were able to maintain the excitement of the kids. Thanks to all our friends, family and relatives who came and joined her. I’m sure that my baby really had fun even if her dad was not there.

You can view all of the pics here.

Not what you're thinking... what I mean is that I'll be single for the next two years because... I’ll be living alone without a husband besides me.

It came to pass....Jerry left this morning. It was such a heartrending moment. I couldn’t believe that the picture I usually see on movies is actually happening to us... that’s where I am that moment. The departure scene. I tried to manage my self out from crying. I cried enough the night before his departure. Ganun pala talaga ang feeling. The thought of him leaving us for two years just sank in so ayun, I felt really sad and nag drama talaga. Specially when the moment came...when he was ushered by the agency's liason officer to the airport's entrance...and seeing just his back... That was his last picture. I knew then that it was real.

It was sad but I know I can handle this. I kept on telling my self that he's just in a mission, or in the province so that I won't feel alone and lonely. I need to be strong so that he won't feel the loneliness of being away from his family too.

look at the eyes...

Jerry bids goodbye to Jaden

We'll carry on. I believe that God will be with us always. And he will be there to comfort my husband in times of loneliness and I also know that He'll be there as well to give me wisdom and strength, that I'll be able to raise a wonderful, smart and good daughter.
